A team representing Arunachal Pradesh won the final of the women’s category of the Assam Rifles Sentinels Cup at Laitkor today.
The score was not provided by the organisers but it was informed that the match went to extra time before Arunachal got the better of Assam Rifles’ own women’s team.
Seven women’s football teams from Meghalaya, Assam, Nagaland, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Assam Rifles participated in the tournament. The first phase of the tournament was conducted at Lokra in Assam. The semifinals were played between Assam Rifles and Nagaland and Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
The Sentinels Cup commenced on June 30 at Lokra with the opening ceremony graced by the Governor of Assam, Gulab Chand Kataria.
The men’s final will take place tomorrow.
