All proposals for appointment or re-employment of retired government officers with remuneration which is equivalent to last pay drawn minus pension or with a fixed remuneration which is more than the amount equivalent to last pay drawn minus pension will now require prior approval of the State cabinet.
This was stated in the order issue by the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department recently.
The order also said that appointment of retired government officers on contractual basis where the amount of remuneration is a fixed lump sum amount which is less than the amount equivalent to last pay drawn minus pension will not require prior approval of the cabinet.
“Such appointments should, however, continue to obtain the approval of the minister in-charge before seeking the approval/concurrence of Personnel & AR (A) Department and Finance (E) Department as per practice,” the order said.
