Anveshan 2023, the flagship academic event of the Delhi-based Association of Indian Universities (AIU), was hosted by North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) here on February 22 and 23.
The event witnessed the convergence of representatives from academia and government with an exchange of ideas and insights.
The inaugural function was graced by Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma and Prof TP Singh, Emeritus Scientist from AIIMS, New Delhi.
The inauguration began with the welcome address delivered by Prof SR Joshi, setting the stage for a day filled with intellectual exploration and scholarly discourse. In his address, Joshi emphasised the significance of the convention in providing a platform for students to showcase their research prowess and contribute to the advancement of knowledge.
Sangma underscored the government’s unwavering commitment to promoting regional research and innovation and emphasised the importance of nurturing a culture of inquiry and innovation among the youth of Meghalaya.
Singh’s address inspired attendees to push the boundaries of knowledge and strive for academic excellence rather than study for recognition and accolades.
Renowned cardiologist Prof Animesh Mishra from NEIGRIHMS delivered a captivating keynote lecture on ‘Self-Reliance and Innovation in the Pursuit of Excellence in Research and Development.’ In his address, he emphasised the importance of self-reliance and innovation in addressing today’s challenges. Drawing from his extensive experience in cardiology and medical research, Mishra underscored the need for healthcare systems to adapt and innovate to meet the evolving needs of patients and communities.
