Marking another achievement under the MGNREGS scheme within the state of Meghalaya and East Garo Hills in particular, more than 360 households got together to pool in their job card wages to complete a RCC bridge in the village of Dobu.
The completed RCC bridge will connect Dobu Bazaar to the various villages across the Rongtam stream including Dobu Nengbare, Dobu Chitimbing, Dobu Rimding, Bolmoram Do’chok, Bolmoram Misichikgre and Williamnagar.
The bridge will also be a great help to the many students of the various LP and UP schools, which otherwise had a terrifying time to cross the stream, mostly during the monsoon season.
The bridge was constructed by the Dobu Bazaar Cherasugittim VEC which has 360 households under MGNREGS. The achievement was posted by the deputy commissioner of EGH, Swapnil Tembe on the official district social media page.
