Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh today inspected the Mawthawpdah Primary Health Centre (PHC) and Shngimawlein Sub-Centre in South West Khasi Hills district.
Lyngdoh said her visit was following complaints about the operational status of both the health centres. She praised the dedication of the medical officials, health workers and staff at these facilities and drew attention to challenges such as low rates of institutional deliveries, child vaccinations, and routine health check-ups among women.
She urged the public to work together with the government, emphasising the importance of perseverance despite existing facility gaps to ensure the delivery of optimal services to the public of these areas.
Mawkyrwat MLA, Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar, who was also present during the visit, stressed the significance of collaboration among all health officials and staff to ensure the seamless and effective provision of high-quality health services to the people.
The Health Minister also chaired a review meeting with the local MLA, MDC, district health officials to assess the health infrastructure, facilities, and the operational status of health centres across the district.
