The Federation of All School Teachers of Meghalaya (FASTOM) has decided to hold a mass rally on April 22 at Malki Ground at 11am.
Speaking to the media today, FASTOM spokesperson, Mayborn Lyngdoh, said that the reason for holding the mass rally is because of the government’s failure to meet the federation’s demands to upgrade ad hoc schools to the deficit system.
The government has also made no positive step in regards to FASTOM’s decision to accept a gradual upgrade over time.
FASTOM has invited all ad hoc teachers across the state as well as other teachers and ex-students and parents to participate in the rally if they support the teachers’ demands.
