The Hynñiewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF), Jaintia Zone has sought clarification on the appointment of officiating staff at the Nartiang CHC.
According to the pressure group, the appointment was made by the office of the District Medical Health Officer in Jowai as revealed by the RTI they had filed recently.
Zonal general secretary D.Symblai said that the HNYF had filed a RTI and based on the information provided it is learnt that the CHC has only one doctor and officiating staff.
He said when sought for a clarification, the DMHO was “clueless” on how appointments of officiating staff were made.
In light of the information provided, the HNYF has demanded the department to clarify why officiating staff are allowed to continue for so many years when such appointments are not allowed. “This shows the double standard of the government because jobs are reserved only for those who are in power,” the group added.
