The office of the MePDCL Jowai Distribution (Sub division), West Jaiñtia Hills District has assured members of the Jaintia National Council (JNC) to provide power connection to Madan Pohkseh village under the Rural Development Sector Scheme (RDSS).
According to the JNC Western Zone, President Hamehi Bamon the village under the Laksein block has been reeling under darkness for years now.
Bamon said a formal letter requesting for power connection to the village was submitted to Executive Engineer L. Syngkon on May 29, who assured that the village would be added to the list of households to be electrified under the RDSS.
Tenders would be issued in the coming months to kickstart the process, with the goal of completing the project within the year, he added.
