The Directorate of Educational Research and Training (DERT) in collaboration with PARAKH, NCERT, New Delhi held a two-day workshop on implementation of Holistic Progress Card (HPC) at the foundational, preparatory, middle and secondary stages of school education for the practitioners of the State.
Teacher educators from the DERT, District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs), Colleges of Teacher Education (CTEs), Kiang Nangbah Government College (KNGC) Jowai, Cherra Teachers’ Training Centre (CTTC), Sohra and Government school teachers from across the State attended the workshop.
Aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage (NCF-FS) and National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) as the basis, the HPC aims to assess students’ cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development, fostering a well-rounded education system.
The workshop also involved participants with hands-on sessions on preparation and development of assessment tools such as a rubric-based assessment system with three levels of progression from beginner to proficient to advanced level. This new approach of assessment represents a paradigm shift in the assessment system involving evidence-based feedback from teachers, learners, peers as well as parents and guardians.
The workshop was facilitated by a National Level Resource Person from PARAKH, NCERT and a State Level Resource Person from DERT.
