Garo Hills Youth Solidarity (GHYS) and concerned villagers have submitted a complaint to the Public Health Engineering Department in East Garo Hills claiming that officials have embezzled funds from a Jal Jeevan Mission project in Samanda Rongakgre
GHYS said that the contractor employed for the task did not implement the project properly and the PHE officials involved must have embezzled from the project.
The JJM project in the village is officially complete but water does not flow through the pipes or taps.
