National Milk Day was celebrated at Jowai Dairy Plant Campus with motivational awards presented to individuals who have contributed to the working of the dairy plant.
DV Lyngdoh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, was the chief guest and the two individuals who received recognition were Robinus Saioo and Banteilang (no surname given).
Lyngdoh emphasised the significance of milk in daily life, describing it as a complete and essential food vital for growth and overall health. She pointed out that while some regions understand and fully recognise milk as an integral part of a balanced diet, here in our region its importance is overlooked.
She encouraged everyone to work together to build awareness about the health benefits of milk and to make it a regular part of their diet. Lyngdoh praised the organisers for their innovative approach on involving school and college through competition and programs to spread awareness, emphasizing that such activities not only educate but also inspire young students to adopt healthy habits. The winners in the competition were awarded with certificates yesterday.
