A man has been arrested by police in Ri-Bhoi for allegedly threatening several individuals with a country-made gun.
The man was identified by police as Melan Syngkli (46). He was found to have an unlicensed country-made pistol and four live rounds of ammunition.
Syngkli was accused of coming to the house of a Santosh Marbaniang at Umkhawai village on the morning of November 18 where he threatened to shoot one Balwan Mawthoh and threatened Marbaniang and his mother-in-law Twilen Mawthoh if they informed police about this matter.
However, police were told and Syngkli, also a resident of Umkhawai, was arrested after an investigation. A criminal case has been registered against him at Patharkhmah police station.
