A driver was injured in a hit-and-run accident in Mukhla near Tluhmulong bridge, West Jaiñtia Hills district today.
The incident happened at around 3:40 pm when driver, Banrilang Ryndong of Moodymmai was driving a Maruti Van bearing registration number ML04-A8136, transporting cartons to Mukhla.
According to witnesses, a truck was on the wrong side of the road and knocked the maruti van head on. Thereafter, the truck fled the scene.
The injured driver was shifted to Ummulong CHC for medical attention.
Later, the truck bearing registration number AS 01-MC 0527 was held by police from Ummulong.
