In yet another crackdown on illegal street racing and stunts on the National Highway from Shillong to Guwahati, today 10 two wheelers were detained by Nongpoh traffic police.
The riders had to pay heavy penalties as per the Motor Vehicles Act “for putting their lives and the lives of other commuters at risk”, police said.
Such surprise checking will continue and riders were again warned not to indulge in such illegal activities that put everyone’s lives on the road at risk.
