The Jaiñtia Fishing and Environmental Protection Association (JFEPA) today successfully fished out a rusted abandoned boat of the PHE at the Myntdu River in Ram Pyrthai.
Work to extract the boat using an excavator began yesterday as it has been an eyesore on the river for over 39-years.
The association said the extraction was done after permission was granted by the PHE in the presence of the side engineer working on the in-situ project to protect the ailing river.
