The office of the District Medical and Health Officer of East Khasi Hills will conduct the Intensified Pulse Polio Immunisation Programme (IPPI) 2024 in the district on March 4 from 9am to 5pm at locations throughout the district.
This will be followed by house-to-house “search and coverage activity” on March 5 and 6.
The goal of the programme is to eradicate poliomyelitis and to vaccinate all children under five years of age against the polio virus.
All parents are therefore requested to bring their children below 5 years of age to the arranged booths in their respective locality for vaccination. Headmen, NGOs, church leaders, etc, are also requested to join hands with the Department of Health and Family Welfare for the success of the programme to protect children from the polio virus and to eliminate this dreaded disease.
