The central government has released funds for the state to pay the long-awaited post-matric scholarships for students of the state.
An official order was issued today by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
The grant-in-aid of Rs 41.25 crore is the second instalment for 2022-23 which the state government will pay to around 67,000 beneficiaries.
It may be mentioned that the delay in scholarship disbursal have caused anxiety among students as fee deadlines approach. Protest was also led by Earlier, the members of the North Eastern Hills University Students Union and the Hynñiewtrep Youth Council had protested against the government’s failure to release the scholarships.
