Four Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in Mawkynrew block of East Khasi Hills have been upgraded with solar power and equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities.
The upgraded PHCs include Jongksha PHC, Wahsherkhmut PHC, Mawkynrew PHC and Jatah PHC.
This was informed by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma today on microblogging site X.
According to him, this collaborative effort between the State government and Global Himalayan Expedition (GHE) marks a crucial step towards enhancing healthcare accessibility in remote areas.
GHE has launched several initiatives to bring solar energy to remote tribal communities in Meghalaya and upgrade the healthcare infrastructure in the State.
