Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma impressed everyone with his guitar prowess so much that industrialist Anand Mahindra has invited him to perform at the upcoming Mahindra Blues Festival in Mumbai.
Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra was impressed by Sangma’s recent performance of Iron Maiden’s solo guitar on stage.
Mahindra has invited Sangma to perform at the popular Mahindra Blues Festival which will be held on February 10-11, 2024 at the iconic Mehboob Studios at Bandra (West), Mumbai.
“Uber cool… we need you out here at the @mahindrablues in Feb @SangmaConrad,” Mahindra wrote on X.
In his reply, the Meghalaya chief minister said, “Would love to @anandmahindra… need more practice though”.
Social media was abuzz after a video of Sangma strumming the guitar to Iron Maiden’s ‘Wasted Years’ surfaced. Sangma was performing at a cafe in Tura as part of his rock band reunion
‘Saga’ band members of which the CM himself was once an active member during their college days in Delhi had organised the reunion at the RoofTop Cafe in Tura on December 26.
The chief minister belted several numbers from Iron Maiden and others to relive their college days.
He had posted the video on his Instagram handle on December 27.
Sangma’s performance during his recent band reunion in Tura, which was shared on Sangma’s Instagram handle, received over 17,000 views on December 28.
Sangma used to perform with his band Saga during his college days in Delhi and would often meet up with the band members for private jam sessions.
The chief minister frequently shares videos of himself playing the electric guitar, covering songs by Iron Maiden and other popular rock metal bands.
