The State Tourism department has announced the fourth edition of Winter Tales to be held over three days from December 14 to 16 at the iconic Ward’s Lake.
The event is implemented by The Meghalayan Age Limited and curated by Dak_ti Craft.
Winter Tales is an artisanal event focused on providing a platform to the entrepreneurs and the arts and crafts communities of the State so they can showcase their talents in art, craft, food or music. Importance is placed on sustainability and the goal is to make it a zero-waste initiative.
Winter Tales aim for a ‘natural and organic’ approach to events and festivities in Meghalaya by using items such as bamboo and jute wherever possible and limiting non-biodegradable and non-recyclable waste. Plastic waste, if any, generated from the festival is up-cycled and the same is maintained by all participants.
The festival will also host a slew of workshops, demonstrations and panel discussions to educate and inspire the guests to delve deeper into the minutiae of the state.
Tickets will be made available from the official website www.wintertales.in and the proceeds from ticket sales will go to charitable institutions
