A girl from Shillong, Rachel Rimeika Jyrwa, claimed the coveted title of Miss Hornbill International 2023 amidst the vibrant celebrations of the Hornbill Festival 2023 in Kohima, Nagaland.
The grand finale of the Miss Hornbill International pageant took place in front of a cheering crowd at the Capital Cultural Hall, Kohima yesterday.
14 contestants competed for the crown, including representatives from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Tripura, Mizoram, Nepal, and Meghalaya.
Hailing from Mawlai, Rachel, a BA English student at Synod College, has captivated the audience with her grace and charm, securing not only the winning crown but also the titles of Miss Beautiful Smile and Best Evening Gown.
Alongside the prestigious title, 19-year-old Rachel was awarded a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh along with Rs 30,000 for her exceptional performance in various subtitles.
Rachel holds the First Runner’s Up title in Miss Shillong 2023 and is now set to sign a promising one-year contract with Vogue Nagaland.
The pageant is managed and produced by Vogue Entertainment Nagaland, with the support of Nagaland Tourism, Art and Culture, Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency, and the Sericulture Department of the Government of Nagaland.
