A teenager riding a motorbike died after he collided his two-wheeler with an Alto in Mawlangwir Saitsnad today.
The incident occurred at around 4:15pm near the Rowell Lyngdoh Stadium.
The motorbike (AS 01 MB 5259) was being ridden by Nangpyndapbor Kharlyngdoh (17) of Nonglang village. Another 17-year-old, Badatipskhem Snaitang, also of Nonglang, was riding pillion.
They were on the way from Mawkyrwat to Nonglang when they crashed into the back of an Alto (ML 12 1474), which was being driven by Dirling Kharlyngdoh of Nonglang.
The driver of the car was reportedly reversing when the rider of the bike hit the vehicle.
Nangpyndapbor later succumbed to his injuries, while the pillion rider was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police have observed the necessary formalities and investigations are ongoing.
