A Meghalaya police officer, DK Prasad clinched the Silver medal at the state Kettlebell Championship held yesterday at Pinewood Gym here.
The 57-year old fitness enthusiast and Assistant Commandant attached to training at SF10, Prasad emerged as an inspiration at the gym as he defies age norms, showcasing that staying fit knows no age bounds.
The championship was organised by the Girevoy Sports Indian Federation (GSIF) wherein 14 athletes participated, securing a total of eight Gold and seven Silver medals.
The competition is part of GSIF’s nationwide initiative across states like Meghalaya, Assam, and Maharashtra.
Sandeep Sharma, a bronze medallist in the international kettlebell competition in Hungary, actively promotes the sport’s rapid growth in the state. As a trainer at Gold’s Gym and Pinewood Gym, he trains in Kettlebell and Animal Flow (the only certified trainer in Northeast India)
