Meghalaya BJP leaders today were elated with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat.
BJP spokesperson and former MLA Himalaya M. Shangpliang said that Mann Ki Baat is the link between the Prime Minister and the people of the country.
“The medium where the Prime Minister meets the downtrodden and people of the country and also encourages entrepreneurs,” he said.
“Like yesterday a lady from Manipur who weaves clothes out of Lotus thread likewise in Meghalaya’s Syntein village where womenfolk make baskets and handicrafts out of bamboo and cane. This wasn’t known to the world but the Prime Minister in his 99th episode of Maan Ki Baat had an interaction with the people arranging a live telecast leaving the people of Mawsynram delighted to see the Prime Minister face to face on the screen,” Shangpliang added.
After the Mann Ki Baat programme there was so much response from outside world into the Syntein village, the former Mawsynram MLA said.
He said that people wanted to buy the products and the people from the village are going online to sell their products and are also getting orders from five star hotels.
“I must say that Maan Ki Baat has become a medium of exposure of rural India to the outside world,” Shangpliang mentioned.
