The mortal remains of a teenage girl who died on Friday under mysterious circumstances in Rajasthan arrived back at her home in Marngar village, Ri-Bhoi, today.
Walinda Binong was a student at the School of Design at Mody University, her father informed. Her death has left not just the family but the whole community in shock.
The 19-year-old was reported dead at her college hostel in Sikar town, Rajasthan, under mysterious circumstances. The college authorities claimed that she had poisoned and later hanged herself but the family of the victim has denied this.
With the help of Ri-Bhoi police, her body arrived today at her residence in Marngar for the funeral.
According to sources, the girl’s father received a phone telling him to come to Jaipur immediately because his daughter had been admitted to the Laxmangarh Community Health Centre after her health had worsened.
However, when he arrived at the institute on Friday at around 7pm, the authorities informed him that his daughter had passed away.
