Governor Phagu Chauhan today visited Nartiang’s famed Durga temple and its monoliths today.
Chauhan was welcomed to the temple by the Deputy Commissioner of West Jaintia Hills, BS Sohliya, and Superintendent of Police Bikram D Marak, other representatives of the district administration and police, representatives of the temple and the local durbar, residents and students of Ramakrishna Mission Secondary School.
After visiting the temple, the Governor paid a visit to the garden of monoliths in the same village. He then proceeded to the Soil and Water Conservation Rest House in Jowai where he interacted with district officials.
