The Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya celebrated International Women’s Day 2023 along the theme ‘Embrace Equity’.
The celebration was marked by various activities conducted by the BSF Wives Welfare Association (BWWA) Meghalaya, such as cultural programmes, games, quiz competition, band display, etc and celebrated the vital roles that women play in society and.
The BWWA Meghalaya president addressed the ladies present and motivated them to be more responsible in all facets of life as their husbands remain deployed in far flung areas of the international border. The president also motivated them to take up various ventures without hesitation which will bring prosperity and a sense of achievement to them.
In addition, Women’s Day was celebrated on the international border of East Jaintia Hills by the 172 Battalion of the BSF Meghalaya at Umkiang during which a weapons display was put on for students of Holy Cross Higher Secondary School Umkiang.
