The much maligned Tyrsad-Lyngiong Road, which has been in a terrible state for decades, in the process of getting a facelift as the work order for the improvements has been issued.
This was informed by incoming Mawphlang MLA Matthew Beyondstar Kurbah soon after he was declared the victor of the recent Assembly election.
Kurbah said that the work order for the construction of the road from Umpamtih to Weiloi, amounting to more than Rs 50 crore, has been made.
“I have not seen the work order but I have seen that construction has started and once this stretch of the road is completed, travelling on this road will become easier and development will be revived once again,” he said.
He also stressed that besides proper roads and education, employment for the youth is of utmost importance for overall development besides welfare of the farmers.
