Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong has claimed that the NPP’s ability to make tough decisions will give it an edge in the upcoming polls and it will emerge as the single largest party.
Stating that solving the border issue with Assam and relocation of Sweeper’s Colony from Them Ïewmawlong are the two issues that no one dared to venture for the last 50 years, he said that the people of Meghalaya are already in favour of the party because of these.
“The fragrant winds of change is blowing towards the NPP for valid reasons. The reason is we took tough decision to resolve the long pending border dispute which lingered for the last 50 years,” he said at Patharkhmah to drum support for Jirang candidate Sosthenes Sohtun today.
He also stated that though many political parties in the state have tried to mislead people the party has faith that it will come back to power and form the government for the second time. “It is an era of the NPP,” he declared.
Praising Sohtun for the changes in Jirang constituency, Tynsong said more than Rs. 580 crores of developmental and social welfare schemes were implemented during his tenure.
