An instructor of a gym in Thana Road allegedly molested a teenaged client on the pretext of applying slimming oils to the victim.
An FIR in this regard has been lodged at Sadar police station against the alleged perpetrator, one Raju Baruah.
The 19-year-old victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said that Baruah had called her to his cabin in the “so-called” gym at around 4:15pm with an intention to molest.
“This culprit called me in his cabin by fooling me that my body fat is growing,” the victim said in the FIR. “To lose body fat he pressured me to apply some oil on my hips. He pressured me to lie down on the bed and started to apply the oil. I thought he would massage only my back but he pulled down my pants and started touching my private parts. I held down his hands and without losing a minute I pulled up my pants and requested him to stop what he was trying to do and ran away from the gym but Baruah followed me till Jail Road.”
There she phoned up her mother, who came to the spot at which point Baruah fled on his scooty.
Speaking to Highland Post, the victim’s mother said that she wanted to report the crime so that this incident would not happen to others and she is hopeful that the law deals firmly with such the culprit.
