Joining hands with the rest of the country, the blood centre at Jowai Civil Hospital conducted a voluntary blood donation camp yesterday at Woodland WK Hospital, Sabahmuswang, on the theme ‘Donate blood and be the reason for someone’s existence’.
The blood drive was inaugurated by Shangpung MDC Treilang Suchiang along with Senior Medical and Health Officer Dr P Shylla, who is the officer in charge of the Jowai Civil Hospital blood centre.
Dr Shylla explained that the day is important for blood banks across India, each of which held a voluntary blood donation drive today.
Dr Shylla thanked Woodland Hospital, the Seng Samla Balang Catholic, Mihmyntdu, and the Jingiaseng Samla, Presbyterian Church Jowai, for joining hands to enable the blood bank to conduct the programme.
