The certificate distribution programme for the 96th batch of computer trainees and the 36th batch of language students of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Cultural Centre was held here today.
During the programme, the centre presented more than 1,300 certificates to students who excelled in the two subjects. Every year, the centre trains around 6,000 youths in computer subjects, spread over five sessions.
The present convocation is for trainees of the July to September 2022 session, comprising around 1,700 youths from different parts of the North East.
Earlier in the ceremony, the sixth issue of the trilingual ezine, Kajingshai – The Light – Jyoti, was released.
Chief guest, Anita Kharpor, the Director of Employment and Craftsmen Training, commended the efforts of Ramakrishna Mission and asked the students to register themselves on her department’s online portal – https://dectmeg.nic.in/ – after completing their courses.
Addressing the students, Swami Divyaswarupananda Maharaj, the in-charge of the Ramakrishna Mission, Shillong, said that, in any country, progress is possible only with education and the dawning of knowledge.
