Students from Meghalaya and the rest of the North East are being eagerly sought for by the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), with promises of world-class education, the best public sector and private placements and a safe, secure and conducive environment for study.
MRSPTU was established by the Punjab government and is centred in Bathinda.
Addressing a press conference here today, MRSPTU Registrar Gurinder Pal Singh Brar said that North East students can also apply for attractive scholarships and welfare schemes.
He and other university officials arrived in Shillong to begin on the spot admissions and counselling.
Admissions for the 2022-23 academic session are open for Engineering, Architecture and Planning, Commerce and Management, Pharmacy, Food Science and Technology, Agriculture, Aeronautical, Aerospace, Computational Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Skill Development, and online certified courses in emerging technologies, i.e. Data Science, Blockchain, Programming Languages, Cyber Crime, Machine Learning, Patents & IPR, Business Intelligence and many others.
Some of the scholarships that students can apply for are the Punjab Chief Minister Scholarship for Meritorious Students (up to 100 percent fee waiver) and Ishan Vikas and Ishan Uday schemes (for North East students). In addition, the central government has launched a special scholarship for North East students.
