Former Congress block president of Chokpot, Willy D Shira joined hand with the Trinamool Congress today.
Shira, who is alos the former MDC of Rongrikimgre was welcomed by TMC leader Lazarus Sangma.

Meanwhile, the party also held back-to-back meetings all across Garo Hills, where the party is reaching out to more people with their day-to-day concerns and challenges.
Three grassroots meetings were held in Wadanang, Chokpot, and Gambegre.
A block level meeting and joining were held in Wadanang, North Tura where Meghalaya TMC leaders Rollingstone Momin and Romullash Marak were present along with other party members and supporters.
Women from the constituency discussed local issues with the members. After the meeting, the TMC leader took a dig at the NPP-led MDA government and said, “Chief Minister Conrad Sangma’s NPP government has been proven inefficient and is filled with corruption. Thus, the people of Meghalaya will show them their right place in the coming assembly elections.”
Another set of organizational meetings were held at Chokpot and Gambegre in Garo Hills.
TMC Meghalaya is organizing such meetings with a huge influx of local supporters to put the party’s message across, further strengthening it on the grass-root level.
In each meeting, TMC leaders elaborated on the party’s stand for 2023 which will lead to the betterment of Meghalaya and its people.
