The Federation of Khasi, Jaiñtia and Garo People (FKJGP) of Nongalbibra has requested local MLA Rakkam A Sangma for immediate assistance in repairing a footbridge over the Simsang River, as residents fear its imminent collapse.
The bridge connects Nengsingittim to Jongsingittim and beyond. Locals have repaired the bridge as best they can but their means are limited and the FKJGP is looking for more long-term repairs so that a calamity can be averted.
