Recruitment by government departments is getting back to normal as they form their roster systems, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said today.
Recruitment was halted earlier this year by the High Court until the state government arrived at a system for rostering to be applied to job reservations. The cabinet then hurriedly formed such a system but it has to be implemented department-wise.
The situation is different according to the department, with no one-size-fits-all approach.
“Every department that has completed its roster, they are going ahead with recruitment,” Sangma said, adding that the older a department is, the more complicated the process as the farther back in their documentation they have to go. A similar issue applies to bigger departments.
“There is no other issue in the recruitment process. The only condition that has been put is that you have to ensure that your roster is in place,” he added.
