The executive committee of Jaiaw Laitdom Dorbar in its meeting held here yesterday has lauded the police for prompt arrest of miscreants involved in the assault of four labourers at Jaiaw Umpohliew on June 29.
While strongly condemning the assault incident, the Dorbar Shnong Jaiaw Laitdom said that in the past, several assault incidents have occurred in the Jaiaw Laitdom area that have really tarnished the image of the locality and its residents.
“The Dorbar Shnong Jaiaw Laitdom warned that such crimes cannot be tolerated to take place in our locality. The Dorbar Shnong is happy that the police have arrested some miscreants and at the same time request the police to take strong action against them so that they should not be involved in any crimes,” the Dorbar Shnong said in a statement issued today.
Further, the Dorbar Shnong appealed to the youth and the general masses of the society to avoid such violence and to cooperate with the Dorbar Shnong for the safety and security of the people at large.
It also resolved to strengthen its cooperation with the government agencies in order to bring back normal life and security in the area.
