On the recommendation of the competent authority, Governor Satya Pal Malik has appointed MN Nampui, a retired MCS officer, as “common independent and woman director” in the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Ltd (MeECL) and its three subsidiary companies.
The appointment, dated June 30, is for a period of three years.
The state cabinet, on June 27, had decided to overhaul the board structure of the financially ailing and scandal ridden MeECL.
