Pynshngain Syiem is sounding bullish ahead of the 2023 state elections and is all set to unseat Pynthorumkhrah MLA AL Hek.
The state Congress working president and MDC, whose constituency partially overlaps with the Assembly seat, will be challenging the Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Hek.
Although Hek has won five times from, many of his wins have been only by narrow margins and Syiem is confident he can flip enough voters to his side.
He also said that the Congress is well-accepted in Pynthorumkhrah; in fact Hek had been a Congress MLA in the years prior to 2018. Syiem also touted his credentials as a former MLA (of Mawsynram) and Chief Executive Member of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council.
