The East Jaiñtia Hills Deputy Commissioner has informed that the ex-gratia claimants should claim the Covid-19 death relief from the government within 60 days.
This is as per the directive of the Supreme Court which has fixed timelines for filing of claims for payment of ex-gratia assistance to families of Covid-19 deceased.
“All ex gratia claimants should claim compensation within sixty days from the date of expiry due to COVID-19 prior to 20.03.2022. However, for deaths occurring after 20.03.2022, ninety days time is provided from the date of expiry due to COVID-19 to file the claim for compensation,” the deputy commissioner said.
Beneficiaries are to produce the application form, death certificate from the competent authority, cause of death, bank details, EPIC, and contact details.
