The Awaken India Movement, Meghalaya State Unit met principal of the Synod College, RM Lyngdoh to register their opposition against getting Covid-19 vaccine and wearing of masks mandatory in the campus.
According to the unit chairman, Banshai Marbaniang students had complaint that they were forced to get vaccinated and wear masks and those who did not comply were not allowed to enter the campus and their identity cards seized.
Marbaniang stated that vaccination, testing and mask cannot be forced but should be voluntary.
A letter in this regard was also submitted to the college yesterday, he said, adding, that the organisation had urged the principal not to scare the students and raised findings of experts on the “effects” of masks.
