The Wapung unit of the Hynñiewtrep Youths’ Council (HYC) has opposed the dumping of wastes without the consent of the village authorities by the Jowai Municipal Board at Wapung, East Jaiñtia Hills.
The HYC urged the district administration to intervene into the matter before it impacts on the health, drinking water and the surroundings of the village and its residents as the monsoon approaches. It also demanded the JMB to remove all the waste it has dumped at Wapung.
