      RGSA recruitment cancellation demoralises candidates

The cancellation of the recruitment of staff under the State Programme Resource Centre (SPRC) of the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan (RGSA) has left the aspiring candidates in the dark and demoralized with no concrete clarification from the concerned authority about the reason for the cancellation.
Speaking to Highland Post, one of the candidates said that an advertisement announced the opening of the recruitment process for four posts in the RGSA-SPRC in 2019.
Written tests were held in November 2020 and December 2020 and interviews were held in February 2021.
“After nine months, a notice of the cancellation of the recruitment was published on the SRES website stating that the cancellation of the recruitment of staff is due to the candidates not being able to secure 60 percent marks,” he said, adding that this action has affected the morale and motivation of the candidates who are in dire need of employment.
He said that the cancellation of the recruitment process even though written tests and personal interviews have been completed has raised many questions that need to be answered by the recruiting authority.
“We dedicated our time in preparation of the examination for the said posts and appeared for the written and personal interviews and after waiting for months we were told that it has been canceled which is unjustified,” he said ascertaining that he have information that in the district level the posts have been filled but the posts in the SPRC remain vacant to date.
A few days back, the candidates told HP that the advertisement posted on the SRES website did not mention the desired percentage of marks for selection.
The candidates said that as notified in the notice of cancellation of the recruitment, SRES should produce a copy of the recruitment policy which states that cancellation of recruitment can be made if candidates could not secure 60 percent marks.
They said that as per the notice of 60 percent marks for selection, mentioned by the recruiting authority, a record of the recruitment of present staff securing the desired marks should exist. Those not securing the 60 percent marks should not have been appointed, as per the recruitment policy of SRES if it exists.
They also asked whether there is any relaxation in total marks for the candidates under SC/ST category.
“Why did the recruiting authority not cancel the recruitment process at the stage of scrutinizing the qualifications and documents of the candidates if they found that the candidates were not qualified?” the candidates asked.
They also questioned as to why it took more than nine months to release a notice of cancellation when the interview concluded in February 2021, despite the continuous update being sought by the candidates.
