Two women from Meghalaya – C Marak and E V Pahsyntiew – were among 72 women vaccinators from 36 states and union territories who were honoured today with the ‘Best Women Covid-19 Vaccinators’ award.
Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr Mansukh Mandaviya awarded the 72 women vaccinators on the occasion of International Women’s Day at the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi.
The event was organised to celebrate and recognise the untiring efforts in successful implementation of India’s Covid-19 Vaccination Programme. The women vaccinators have been the harbingers of change in this whole journey.
WHO Representative for India Dr Roderico H. Ofrin, Additional Secretary and NHM Managing Director Vikas Sheel, ICMR Director General Dr. Balram Bharagava, DGHS Director Dr. Sunil Kumar, other senior officials from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare along with health officials from different states were present in the meeting.
