A Meghalayan lawyer working in New Delhi, Daniel Stone Lyngdoh, has filed a complaint with police against the Rot Association of Meghalaya (RAM), an organisation for sex workers.
RAM had issued a press release on Friday to the effect that it will be holding a programme on March 3 featuring a panel of eminent personalities.
These include well-known figures from the press, State Commission for Women, NGOs, State Human Rights Commission as well as Lyngdoh. The event is to be held at the Khasi National Durbar Hall in Mawkhar.
Today, the lawyer said that he had never agreed to take part in the event and has no connection to RAM. He further claimed that this was an attempt to “tarnish my image and bring disrepute to me”.
