With the chief suspect in Sunday’s improvised explosive device blast in Police Bazaar being a teenager, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong today urged parents to do all they can to keep their children off the wrong path.
The unnamed 17-year-old from Nongstoiñ is believed by police to have planted the device. Questions have since been raised as to whether the outlawed Hynñiewtrep National Liberation Council is targeting minors for recruitment.
Tynsong said that the youth must not misconstrue love for their tribe with committing illegal acts.
“It’s sad if innocent youths are being misled, so my humble request is to take the responsibility to groom children in the right direction,” he said.
