On the occasion of this year’s Republic Day, the President of India has conferred the Police Medal for Meritorious Service to a Meghalaya police officer Banpyrkhat Nongsiej
Nongsiej is presently the Deputy Superintendent of Police and is posted at the Special Branch in the Additional DGP office here.
Meanwhile, the President’s Home Guards & Civil Defence Medal For Distinguished Service was awarded to Deputy Controller (Civil Defence) Willy Nonglang.
Nonglang is among the two Home Guards & Civil Defence personnel from the country to receive the medal.
The Home Guards & Civil Defence Medal for Meritorious Service was awarded to Sub-Inspector Kukesh Sangma (Home Guards) and Havildar Liver Lyngdoh (Home Guards).
The Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Service was awarded to Constable Tandronath Kharbani, a driver in the Meghalaya Fire Service.
The Correctional Service Medal for Meritorious Service was awarded to Dominic Warjri (Warder) and Rius Suting (Havildar)
