Casual workers employed by North Eastern Police Academy (NEPA) at Umsaw, Ri-Bhoi, have decided to shelve the idea of holding a strike to demand payment of four months pending salaries.
The decision was made after the administration in NEPA assured the workers that the demand would be met before Christmas.
The casual workers said that the Deputy Commissioner had also taken up the issue with the Director of NEPA, Deepak Kumar.
