The Meghalaya Upper Primary School Teachers Association (MUPSTA) held a peaceful sit-in demonstration today at Kynton U Mon Lad Nongkrem playground to express its solidarity with the adhoc upper primary teachers looking to be upgrade to the deficit system.
MUPSTA is unhappy that the state government has yet to fulfil the demand to upgrade the adhoc teachers’ positions.
The teachers decided to give the government until January 10 to accede to the demand, failing which agitations will restart.
