Around 1,500 adhoc teachers under the Meghalaya Upper Primary School Teachers’ Association (MUPSTA) met on December 3 in Rongram, West Garo Hills, to decide what to do next as the state government has left them disappointed.
MUPSTA has been pressing for the upgrade of adhoc primary schools to deficit schools but to no avail, although bureaucrats and ministers have promised to consider the demand.
MUPSTA said in a press release that its members want to translate their demands into agitation.
